Get ready for the Art bike Expedition on Tuesday August 23rd. We will be riding our two wheeled eccentric creations from Vancouver to Rolley Lake Provincial Park. 8am depart Vancouver, 1967 Napier St. Contact us if you are interesting in joining. Individual campsite reservations need to be made.

Join us this Saturday, August 20th for GROW UP, a one night only, special presentation of live music and video projections. Featuring Saintseneca, a folk quartet hailing from Columbus Ohio alongside multi-channel video projections by the Zenga Bros, with Eisenhauer, Dawna Marie, Buninga, and Vikesh Kapoor.

‘Grow up’ is a phrase manipulated by naysayers, directed at those caught in moments of abandon. To grow up signifies a transition from care-free to careful.

GROW UP is an amalgamation of live film and music, demonstrating a reclamation of this phrase. To grow up is inevitable, the definition is malleable.

The event will be held at the W2 Media Cafe, Doors at 6:30, $10.

This weekend our good friend Ryan introduced us to Vancouver artists Ken Gerberick + Janis Corrado. We visited their studio and had our minds officially blown.

Ken’s studio is a visual overdose and after three hours of wandering though his labyrinth of floor to ceiling assemblage art and multiple garages housing numerous art cars, we stumbled back out onto the street in a daze. Ken’s use of found materials, from back lit toothbrush handles and taillights, to fragments of neon sign tubing flooded our brains with thousands of details all at once.

Seeing so much raw creativity all at once was almost too much to handle, though completely inspiring. Back out on the street we watched a familiar stream of one-colour cars drive by and thought of how severely we are lacking Ken’s type of excessive creativity in our day to day. We have a lot to learn from his endurance and enthusiasm.

Ken Gerberick and Janis Corrado will be joining us on Sunday August 21 for our Art Car Workshop at 1305 Frances St. (Clark & Frances behind the Vespa shop). We’ll be there all day eccentrifing our tour vans and any other cars or bicycles brave enough to enter the lot. Come out and join us. Learn professional techniques and get inspired.

Get your tall bike, art bike, whatever bike ready for the Art Bike Expedition & Camp Out which rolls out of Vancouver on August 22nd. We’ll be camping out and returning the following day. Meeting spot and camp site to be announced very soon.
